First there was the Tide Pod Challenge, then the Bird Box Challenge, now the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has law enforcement and parents extremely concerned.

The 48-hours Missing Challenge is exactly what it sounds like. Teens apparently dare each other to disappear for two days in hopes their picture will show up on social media.

For the sake of my sanity, I’m choosing to believe this is a troll, and no one is actually doing this. I mean, kids are dumb, but they’re not this dumb, right?

Right?

“This could be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of,” said Officer Simon Drobik, Albuquerque Police Department spokesman.

“Could” ? I hate to ask what could be more stupid than this...

I’ve been informed that as long as you keep doing stupid shit, you’re always considered a “kid”. I think it only applies to white people involved in government, though.

if I had a kid dumb enough to do this, it’d be “just disappear. Please.”

Let’s hope any dumb enough to do this stay disappeared much longer.

This world doesn’t need any more stupidity.

I bet it’s real. Watch teen oriented Youtube for a week, and you will too.

And people dying will not stop others from trying it.

It’s actually not im possible. Russian trolls are helping propagate myths about vaccinations.

On the Internet, no one knows you’re a dog.

Growing up, adults always used to say “would you jump off a bridge if so-and-so told you to?” Being cocky kids, we joked about responding with “depends on how deep the water is”. These days, I think kid s would actually do it if they thought it would get them youtube views.

there was a crazy story of a college professor, she couldn’t figure out how all the hate mail and posts were for people against vaccines, and the massive mismatch to polling data. She then wrote a paper in 2014/15 how a large number of the ringleaders were russian accounts (due to all the time stamps 9-5 moscow time). Her paper then floats around in 2016 the FBI calls “can you give a lecture?” “about what? ” “uh we can’t tell you”

And history keeps repeating itself...

All kids are idiots, though some grow out of it.  (I’m not sure if I have or not yet....)

We’re all growing out of it until the day we die. It’s a process, not an endpoint.

That said, some make more progress than others.
